Grace LaCarte
Grace (she/they) is an emerging artist with a passion for accessibility, community-centered programming, and new work within the non-profit arts sector. Having called Pittsburgh home their entire life, Grace is especially committed to how their work can contribute to existing and emerging anti-oppressive missions.
Grace is thrilled to be one of The Pittsburgh Foundation’s New Philanthropic Leaders and looks forward to the year ahead.
Grace recently celebrated the fruition of City Theatre’s 25th Young Playwrights Festival, during which she worked as the festival script supervisor and dramaturg for one of the high school plays, Tinder Tension. This complemented her role as City Theatre’s Education and Access Intern.
They graduated with a BFA in Drama(turgy) with a Minor in Literature and Culture from Carnegie Mellon University in the spring of 2023. During her time there, Grace had the opportunity to learn from TJ Young, Kristi Good, Wendy Arons, Megan Monghan Rivas, Jed Allen Harris, and Professor Mary C. Parker (among others). Experiences interning at the New Play Exchange under Gwydion Suilebhan and Magic Theatre further solidified the ways Grace seeks to translate their dramaturgical skillset to a variety of contexts.
